The Pet Pantry
Keeping Pets Fed and Families Together
The Little Guild’s Pet Pantry is one of the most vital and successful community programs we offer. By providing free pet food and supplies to pet owners in need, we help ensure that no one has to choose between feeding themselves or feeding their beloved animals.
The Pet Pantry operates entirely through the generosity of individuals, companies, and organizations who donate food, supplies, and funding.
How the Pantry Works
-
On-Site Pantry – Available at The Little Guild during regular open hours.
-
Community Partnerships – Since 2020, the Pantry has expanded through collaborations with local food banks and social service organizations, making it easier for families across Northwest Connecticut to receive help.
Thanks to funding from the Northwest CT Community Foundation’s BMR Family Fund, we are able to provide pet food at five monthly partner events in addition to our on-site program.
Where We Serve
The Pet Pantry now reaches families across the region through partnerships with:
-
Torrington: Friendly Hands Food Bank and F.I.S.H.
-
Winsted: Town of Winchester’s Social Services
-
Canaan: Fishes and Loaves Pantry
-
Lakeville: The Corner Food Pantry
-
Litchfield: Town of Litchfield Social Services through the Annex Co-op Food Pantry
-
Norfolk: Norfolk Food Pantry
How You Can Help
The Pet Pantry relies 100% on donations to keep going. You can support the program by:
-
Donating unopened bags or cans of dog and cat food
-
Giving essential supplies like litter, leashes, or toys
-
Making a financial contribution so we can purchase high-need items
Donations may be dropped off at The Little Guild during open hours, or shipped directly from a pet supply store. We have a Pet Pantry Wish List on Amazon that makes the process fast and easy!
